Life in Medieval Studies

Faculty Tower, Room #409

Lecturer(s):
János M. Bak

Institute:
Professor Emeritus, Central European University

This special lecture is offered by János M. Bak reflecting on his life in medieval studies. We take this opportunity to hear his views on his decades-long activities in teaching and academic life. This activity, opening the door to Eastern and Central European scholarship for people who read only English, was one of his most important contributions to this field of study. His dedication to university teaching and research has been recently acknowledged by the CARA award for Excellence in Teaching at the 2007 meeting of the Medieval Academy of America. The Department of Medieval Studies, CEU cordially invite students, colleagues, and fellow academics to celebrate this recognition and listen to his recollections and critical observations of this field.
